My summer has been packed to the gills with events and wedding season is most definitely here! Blogging time is in short supply, so now I’m having to play catch-up. Better late than never, right?
This May I got to do some event painting for the cutest Kentucky Derby party ever to grace Atlanta, I mean it really had everything. Hats, delightfully preppy yet a bit over-the-top fashion, adorably gracious hosts and lots of booze- and me! Haha! What is a swanky party without a live artist to paint everyone’s portraits in watercolor, in under 10 minutes no less???
Here are some highlights! I love my job, you can really see how much fun the portraits were- everyone crowded my table to watch me painting, or to be painted, or to talk about finished paintings. It was generally a great feeling to know I added to the fun atmosphere and gave people a special party favor to take home. All photos courtesy of Alix Cloud Photography.
