Modern Luxury Brides Atlanta magazine: painted wedding favors!

Last weekend I headed out into the torrential and unceasing April rain to attend a very special event with Modern Luxury’s Atlantan Brides magazine. They hosted the event at The Estate, which is a plantation house and gardens that is secretly tucked away in the very heart of buckhead. See those skyscrapers in the picture below? Crazy, right??

I love working bridal shows because the atmosphere is like an elegant brunch, and I’m a sucker for an elegant brunch.  There was essentially a magazine cover greeting everyone at the door:

And there were gift bags galore!

The wall of florals takes the cake for me, though. Is there anything more extravagant than a wall of florals?

My table was in the main ballroom, right by the entrance. I prepared for a LOT of foot traffic. Also brought a canvas and easel, to show brides what my live event paintings look like when I paint the first dance at the reception:

Then guests began to arrive and it was madness! This is totally bragging, but I had a line the whole three hours of the event. Brides wanted their portraits! I loved getting to explain to them that for weddings of 100 guests or under, this 5 min watercolor portrait was something they could hire me to do, and have them for guests as a wedding favor. It’s a completely unique service, and they were excited about that. Now at long last, here are some notable paintings:

And one final photo I took off instagram, one of the Modern Luxury girls took a photo of me painting-in-action! All in all, this was a great event 🙂
