Picture this: crisp autumn air, deep rust and plum tones on green grass, and two people so in love that they hardly look at anything but each other. Sound awesome? It hardly begins to describe the Cabreras.
Meet Angel and Christina, two lovebirds who probably giggled and stared into each other’s eyes more than any other couple I’ve had the honor to paint (and I’ve painted some pretty giddy sweethearts). They opted for an autumn garden wedding, and graciously allowed me to film it- yes, they are the happy couple in my promo video!
Without any more gilding of the lily, here is this fabulous October night in all it’s splendor. Photographs by the best photographer in Georgia, and in my opinion, anywhere: Cindy Harter Photography.
You see what I’m talking about? So much happiness.
The table settings were to die for.
I wanted to add a view of the whole reception tent, so you could see how much detail I had to work with. Now imagine adding guests- it was a bit nerve wracking as I had less time than usual, but I was up to the challenge!
Starting in on the grass and the long central table where the wedding party would be seated.
Painting is so serioussss.
I stand up to work, it’s more fun that way.
Moment of truth! The bride and groom hit the dance floor and I got my customary 2 minutes to lock down their portraits.
I just thought this was a really pretty shot of my palette. Disregard if you aren’t into palettes (and shame on you).
Very rough portrait from the first dance, it gets refined as the rest of the painting gets finished.
Adding guests, I’m nearing the finish line.
The moment I flipped the finished painting around! The dance floor was full, I wish I had a good shot of all the guests coming to see it. The reveal is always my favorite part of the night.
Making my “I will steal your soul” eyes at you by accident, painting complete!
A final late-night shot.
Thanks for reading! I get photographs from my weddings whenever the photographers send them to me, so expect more updates from this year as I get them!
